First ascent: Geoffrey Hastings, Walter Perry Haskett-Smith (UK), William C. Slingsby, and Elias Hogrenning (N), 3. August 1898.

"Time will not allow me to describe the ascent of the Fornæstind, the Romsdalshorn of northern Norway, on which we had the most
difficult rock climbing we had hitherto met with during our campaign. Shall I say that it was partly owing to the fact that we lost our
way through the fog? No; why should we give ourselves away? We descended by another route in bright sunshine and met with greater

difficulties than on the ascent."

(William C. Slingsby: Mountaineering in Arctic Noway, Alpine Journal, 1899.)
