Sieidi (1046), Tromsø, Norway

The North West ridge of Sieidi (1046) as seen from Gjømmertinden.

Sieidi is situated on the West side of Sørfjorden.

A brief description of the North West ridge route: Start from Stordalstrand in Sørfjorden and follow a good path (marked on the Tromsø fastland map) that leads up to two small lakes situated in a cirque to the North of the mountain. Scramble up a quite steep gorge that leads to the pass between Point 753 and Sieidi.
This gorge can be very icy and is a potentially dangerous place during periods of avalanche danger. Beware of falling ice from the overhanging rock cliffs. Climbing the North West ridge is straightforward with one section of approx. 45∘
